Hi, everyone, and welcome to today's talk. I'm Piper Harris, Poema Women's Success Coaching. So this week I'm going to be digging into different leadership styles, different success styles, and specifically how you can lead your life successfully. This week I'll be joined by my special guest, Lori Harris, on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Lori is a designer here in the Greater Atlanta area, and she is going to be helping you to design your space. What a time while we're stuck indoors. The reason I have Lori on board is Lori is a small business owner. She had, I have known her for a long time. She is my sister-in-law, but she has worked so hard to develop her business. And I want to bring women just like her to you every single week for my lunch and learn series. So make sure that you join and register. There will be a link down below. So back to today's topic: what is leadership? What is life leadership success? Well, the way I define life leadership success, it's a verb. It's a the pursuit of goals and action and passion, excuse me, specifically to go steadily in steps, one foot in front of the other. Number two, it's the power to persist, specifically, the possession of control to act and to produce an effect. And number three, it's to lead, specifically, to guide or to direct toward a course or a result. So when you think about my definition of what life leadership success is at, do you have that? Or are you still looking to figure out your goals, maybe your passions, how to persist in the middle of trial like the pandemic, and how to specifically lead your life successfully? Well, today we're going to be learning, all about learning. So, how do we learn from others? I think that's the greatest step for any leaders to start from. What is it that they say that uh imitation is the greatest expression of uh flattery? Absolutely. And if you're not sure about your life, about the leadership or the success that you have in your life, look to others, look to others. So, why is it important to learn from others? Well, it's important to see where they go right, and it's important to see where they've gone wrong. So, one way we can learn is to ask, be direct. Ask someone how do they do that? What did they do? Again, show genuine interest in what they're doing. Maybe it's a book they wrote, maybe it's like Lori and learning how to design. Maybe you're coming to coaching and saying, Piper, I have this burning idea for a business, but I'm just not quite sure how to get there. So ask, be direct when learning from others. Number two, be indirect. That's when you observe. You're going to be watching people. I want you to observe, then implement, then evaluate. You might watch someone and see how they do their branding on social media. So implement what they're doing, then evaluate how it works for your brand, for your brand. Number three, be curious. Be curious. Curiosity is the sweet spot in business and in life, in leading successfully. So there are multiple different learning styles, aren't there? But these are really going to help you. We don't need to talk about visual learning or verbal learning or physical learning. I want you to really consider how you can learn from others. I want you to ask direct questions. How did you do this? How did you get there? I want you to observe individuals. And then I want you to implement, see how it works for what you want to describe or what you want to pursue. Then I want you to be curious. What can I do better? How can I lead my life successfully? So remember, life leadership success. It's an action. It's to pursue the goals and passions that you have. It's the power to persist and keep going to the desired goals and passions that you've defined. And number three, it's to lead. Regardless if you feel like you are a leader in an organization or even your own business, I guarantee you, people are watching. Because people are watching you, that means that you're a leader. So I'm so excited this week to talk about what life leadership success looks like. I hope that you join me on Wednesday for our lunch and learn again with Lori Harris of Swoon Designs as she helps us break free of these walls and learn how to design our space with things that we might have at home or even outside. We're also going to dig into how we can lead our lives successfully. I can't wait to talk to you more this week. I hope this finds you doing well. Please be sure to reach out to me at piperharris.net or go to piperharris.net slash COVID, where I have lots of complimentary resources just for you during this pandemic. Thanks so much for joining me today, and I'll talk to you again tomorrow.
